BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Edin Forto, held a meeting today with the BHRT General Director, Belmin Karamehmedović, Vice-Presidents of the Independent Trade Unions of the Workers in BHRT, Merima Kurtović-Pašalić and Džemal Kahrica, as well as its Executive Secretary, Elvis Čengić.

The focus of their discussion was the situation with the Public Broadcasting Service of BiH and its multi-annual financing problem. They also discussed the process of PBS system digitalisation.

It needs to be noted that BiH is the only country in Europe that has not yet finalised the digitalisation process and the only country with analogue TV signal used for broadcasting.

Minister Forto agreed with the Union representatives on the necessity to improve the status of BHRT employees, the precondition of which is to find the solution for financing of BHRT.
