BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, held a meeting today in Priština with the Deputy Head of International Affairs DG Move, Stefano Paci, and the Director of the Transport Community Permanent Secretariat, Matej Zakošnjek, in which they discussed the construction of an integrated border crossing near Gradiška.

As noted by Minister Mitrović, the role of the European Commission is the key to the implementation of the initiative for the construction of an integrated border crossing that was launched in July last year at the Transport Community Ministerial Meeting in Ljubljana.

“In addition to reaching better connectivity between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, the construction of the border crossing would largely facilitate and accelerate crossing of the border. Given the support by the European Commission, the intention is to organise a meeting with the Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Oleg Butković, at the earliest convenience in order to put in charge relevant representatives of both countries and complete the work as soon as possible" said Minister Mitrović.

Mr. Paci conveyed full support of the European Commission to the initiative regarding this project because the cross-border cooperation comes as one of the priorities for good relations in the region. Director Zakošnjek agreed to this, emphasising that it would be the best way to make integrated border crossings everyday routine.
