Opening of bids for the procurement of equipment for digital transmission and broadcasting within the Project of Digitalisation of Public Broadcasting Services in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Two bids were received. The first bid made by the bidding group (“SIRIUS 2010“ d. o. o. Banja Luka and “OIV“ d. o. o. Zagreb) was in the total amount of 25,535,112.19 KM (VAT excluded), while the bid submitted by the second bidding group (“MIBO komunikacije“ d. o. o. Sarajevo, “Roaming Networks“ d. o. o. Banja Luka, “UNIS telekomunikacije“ d. d. Mostar and “Flame Data Technologies“ SRL Romania) amounted to 25,532,239.90 KM (VAT excluded).

Evaluation of the bids and election of the first bidder that meets the requirements under the Public Call will be completed in the coming period.

BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Edin Forto, noted that the successful completion of this public procurement is crucial for the digitalisation process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, that takes place almost a decade behind other European countries.

Digitisation of the television signal, agreed upon in the framework of the 2006 Geneva Agreement, of which Bosnia and Herzegovina is also a signatory, provided for switching off the analogue television signal by mid-2015, which has not yet been implemented in our country.

“It is unacceptable for Bosnia and Herzegovina to remain an isolated case in the region and the rest of the Europe, and it is a high time, although with almost a decade of delay, for our citizens to feel the benefits of the PBS signal digitalisation” said Minister Forto.
