In cooperation with the BiH Border Police, RS Administration for Inspection Affairs, Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs and MIA employees, the Ministry Inspectorate was conducting for a period of one month joint inspections aimed at curbing illegal transport operations.

According to the work plan, the inspecting authorities were conducting in the period from 15 October to 15 November 2020 inspections of illegal transport of passengers by 8+1 vehicles at the locality of Posušje, Grude, Tomislavgrad, Zenica, Pale, Sokolac, Gradiška, Banja Luka, Prijedor, Kozarska Dubica, Novi Grad and Kostajnica as well as on the international border crossings Osoje, Gorica, Kamensko, Rača, Orašje, Šamac, Gradiška, Gradina, Dubica and Kostajnica.

As a result of such inspections 22 natural persons were issued with a penalty notice for participating in the illegal transport of passengers.

In accordance with the respective Joint Commission Protocols signed with the Republic of Slovenia, Republic of Austria, Swiss Confederation and the Federal Republic of Germany, the Ministry's inspectors denied entry into BiH for 24 vehicles in total on the international border crossings, while the passengers travelling in such vehicles were allowed to enter BiH.

Inspectors of the Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs and the Federal Administration for Inspection banned seven vehicles from operation and undertook legal measures to that effect.

76 vehicles (8+1) in total that might have been connected to the illegal international transport of passengers had been checked during inspections.

Controls on illegal transport of passengers by 8+1 vehicles will be carried out on an ongoing basis in the period ahead.
