General Manager Kahriman informed Minister Mitrović about the joint initiative of the BH Telecom, M:tela and HT Mostar to reduce the fee for the use radiofrequency spectrum for mobile operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that all three operators find the fees to be extremely high and as such are in noncompliance with the BiH’s strategic commitment which aims to encourage and develop broadband access as the foundation for the development of the digital society.
In accordance with the BiH Law on Communications and the BiH Law on the Council of Ministers, and upon the proposal of the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport, the Council of Ministers adopts decision determining the fees for the use of radiofrequency spectrum in BiH.
Minister Mitrović expressed his readiness to support the joint initiative of the three mobile operators and to forward it, at the earliest convenience, to the Council of Ministers for their decision, which would greatly help to their continuation of the investment in new technologies and services.
Views were exchanged on the impact of the pandemics on the telecom operators’ business operations.
Minister Mitrović said that the Ministry will always provide assistance to the telecom operators and cooperate with them in order to overcome possible issues. He also wished General Manager Kahriman a lot of success in his future work, especially in establishing telecom-related cooperation.
