“The first generation of air traffic controllers is being trained in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 14 of them for area air traffic control, and 11 for approach air traffic control. I believe that Mostar can become a controller certification centre for the entire region, but also for Europe, and there is no reason why we should be lagging behind”, said Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto.

As Davorin Primorac, Director of Air Navigation Services Agency said today, by training its own air traffic controller, BHANSA will gain full control over the training process and will be able to adapt it to its specific needs and requirements of the air navigation industry in BiH.

In partnership with the leading Danish company Gate Aviation Training specialised in air traffic management, BHANSA has launched the first comprehensive training programme for air traffic controllers that is fully implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dirch Jans, CEO and Co-Founder of the Gate Aviation Training, noted on the great demand for air traffic controllers globally and this programme being the opportunity that opens up new possibilities for BiH.
