They agreed on the necessity to consider all offered possibilities and to define the points in the Brčko District area that will be the connecting points to the highway from Banja Luka to Bijeljina and Belgrade, but also to the part through Brčko to Tuzla.
Minister Mitrović noted that the Brčko District Planning Institute has prepared several variants of this route, one of which is also defined by the spatial plan. According to Minister Mitrović, it is important to agree on the best solution that will satisfy Brčko District, on the one hand, and Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the other. Minister Mitrović believes that, in the process of choosing the optimal and compromised solution, the final decision should be made by the experts, which should take into account all technical aspects, such as the configuration of the terrain and the length of the route.
Acting Director Stanarević expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Minister Mitrović dedicated some time to meet and discuss such important issues for JP Autoputevi RS and JP Autoceste FBiH as well, because the construction of the Belgrade - Sarajevo - Belgrade highway is among the priority projects for both Companies, which is also defined by the trilateral agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Turkey. He supported the position that in this case the final decision should be made by the experts, however, all sides must agree such decision in order to proceed smoothly with the project implementation.
