Joint initiative by Minister Forto and the Minister of Construction, Traffic and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, Goran Vesić, was launched with the purpose of improving cooperation as well as the railway traffic, as the foundation for the economic development. Based on this Agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia will apply together for EU and international funds aimed at reconstruction and modernisation of this railway that is of common interest to the citizens and the economy of both countries.

“This is a generational project – the railway that will become the artery of the largest industrial region in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the same time is the first post-Dayton joint infrastructure project between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia that deserves to be supported by EU financial institutions”, said Minister Forto.

Minister Forto expressed his hope that the Agreement will soon be endorsed by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to proceed with its signing and ratification, followed by the implementation activities.
