Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, held a second meeting today with the management of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate for Civil Aviation (BHDCA) and all airports in BiH in which they agreed on the proposal to be put forward to the BiH Council of Ministers for the adoption of a one-year moratorium on taxes for departing passengers.

“Taxes are direct revenue of the BiH Directorate for Civil Aviation that is going to waive it, and those KM 3.6 mils. will be treated as an incentive for the airports. If the BiH Council of Ministers adopts the proposed measure, this could encourage airlines to increase their presence in BiH”, said Minister Forto, adding that the airports are required to complete the certification process.

Minister Forto expressed his hope that the BiH Council of Ministers would approve the proposal aimed at assisting the airports in BiH, given that an increase in air traffic is in the interest of the country.

The next meeting with the management of the airports and BHDCA is scheduled for December this year.
