Stronger Partnership Between the Ministry and the UN

Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, attended a working meeting today organised by UN Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ingrid Macdonald, with the UN team in BiH.

The emphasis was on strengthening the cooperation with and support to the Ministry of Communications and Transport in key areas in order to enhance digital transformation and connectivity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was featured by the presentation of join activities of the UN Agencies, including IOM, ITU, UNECE, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNESCO and UN Women, and Minister Forto emphasised the importance of the UN support in attaining the Ministry’s goals.

The United Nations presented the comprehensive overview of all activities relevant for digital transformation and connectivity, cyber security, inclusion and equality in the digital age as well as the road safety and urban mobility.

This meeting is an important step forward in strengthening the partnership between the United Nations in BiH and the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH, paving the way for impactful initiatives that are aligned with the priorities of the Ministry and the Cooperation Framework between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the UN for a sustainable development, and reaffirm the commitment that no one will be left behind.
