“Bosnia and Herzegovina has had the infrastructure for digitalisation in daily life for a decade, whether for public or private companies. It is essential that we are having a momentum in this area for the first time and that the phrase “digital transformation” can be translated into concrete matters such as eliminating some papers and procedures”, said Minister Forto.
IDDEEA Director, Almir Badnjević, said that eIdentity provides citizens with the possibility to check all records, penalties, applications and similar information available in the IDDEEAA’s databases: “Eighteen years after the adoption of the Law on Electronic Signature, BiH citizens are now able to use electronic signature and digital identity”.
The Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Justice and Administration headed by Minister Darja Softić Kadenić was mentioned as a good example. In parallel, together with the Municipality Centar Sarajevo, the Sarajevo Canton has developed the so called Cantonal ePortal that should serve as central administrative point for providing digital services to citizens.
Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Davor Bunoza, expressed his hope that this would mark the beginning of true digitalisation of administration and judiciary in BIH ultimately leading to tackling long queues at counters and before administrative bodies.
