BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Edin Forto, noted that the successful completion of this public procurement is crucial for the digitalisation process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, that takes place almost a decade behind other European countries.
Digitisation of the television signal, agreed upon in the framework of the 2006 Geneva Agreement, of which Bosnia and Herzegovina is also a signatory, provided for switching off the analogue television signal by mid-2015, which has not yet been implemented in our country.
“It is unacceptable for Bosnia and Herzegovina to remain an isolated case in the region and the rest of the Europe, and it is a high time, although with almost a decade of delay, for our citizens to feel the benefits of the PBS signal digitalisation” said Minister Forto.
