At today’s meeting with the representatives of the most significant journalist associations in Europe, establishing of a self-sustaining public broadcasting service was emphasised as one of the priorities of the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto.

Minister Forto informed the meeting participants of the steps undertaken by the Ministry in order to begin preparing an adequate legal framework for the reform of the PBS system and recalled that establishing of a financially self-sustaining PBS service is one of the preconditions for opening of the negotiations on full-fledged EU membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He also said that he would intensify his efforts in the following months on the preparation of the Draft Law on Transparency of Media Ownership.
