BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport Delegation headed by BIH Deputy Minister of Communications and Transport, Ognjen Janjić, attends the International Transport Forum (ITF) Summit taking place in Leipzig.

The new members' accession to the ITF and the ECMT licence quota development and establishment were discussed at the today's ministerial meeting.

In his address, Deputy Minister Janjić noted the issue of an inadequate number of freight transport licences facing Bosnia and Herzegovina, which pose a challenge for our transport operators but also makes the flow of goods more difficult. He emphasised Bosnia and Herzegovina's readiness to actively participate in regional initiatives and dialogue on all relevant factors in order to bring about harmonisation and create preconditions for increasing the basic ECMT licence quota. If the ECMT licences in excess available to the EU countries were to be assigned to the countries in need it would further incite trade and strengthen regional economic integration, thus our delegation made a request to give this option due consideration.
