“Media workers need to be protected as if they were officials, because without them there is no freedom of media, and therefore there are no free citizens”, said the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, in his opening address at the event called “Media evolution until 2040: the perspective of future media professionals”.

The event was organised by the students of journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo who have created a vision for the media until 2040, along with other 30 student from 5 regional Universities (Novi Sad, Podgorica, Skopje, Skadar and Priština). In such vision, the students have identified several key impediments but also explored the potential solutions in order to have professional carriers in media that are better than the ones we have today.
