By cutting the ribbon, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Zoran Tegeltija, today officially opened the newly constructed Ivan Tunnel, and the Tarčin-Ivan motorway section.

In addition to the BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, and the Deputy Minister, Nedžad Branković, the ceremony was also attended by the FBiH Prime Minister, Fadil Novalić, Director of the Autoputevi FBiH Company, Elmedin Voloder, the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative to BiH, Johann Sattler, and many other high-level officials.

The value of the construction of the 6.9-kilometre-long section amounted to EUR 77.9 mil. of which the European Union provided EUR 23.3 mil. The value of the tunnel construction alone was EUR 56.7 mil.
