Forto: Construction of railway infrastructure is a priority

Investments in railway infrastructure, in other words construction of railway Corridor Vc and railway Doboj – Tuzla – Zvornik, is a priority in the work of the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Minister Edin Forto today in Doboj at the opening of Railway summit organised in cooperation with Transport Community.

Memorandum on Cooperation in the scope of Transport Community between the railway companies and academic community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Georgia has been signed today with a goal to establish Regional Center of Excellence in railways.

In order to achieve better cooperation with academic community, Minister Forto signed today memorandums of scientific, educational and professional cooperation with deans of traffic universities in sarajevo and east Sarajevo Amel Kosovac and Zoran Ćurguz.

Minister Forto announced that he will try his best that future Regional Center of Excellence in railways be situated in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a regional railway hub that has all conditions to be the center of education and cooperation.

Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community Matej Zakonjšek emphasized that regional cooperation is a priority for the progress and announced more active engagement of Transport Community regarding the improvement of railway transport in the regional countries because modernisation of the railway infrastructure in the region is of a crucial importance for economic development and realisation of environmental goals.
