BiH Minister of Communications and Transport, Vojin Mitrović, attended today the ceremony on the occasion of the opening of the highway section from the Kostajnica interchange to the Johovac interchange.

The first completed Corridor Vc highway section in Republika Srpska, from Johovac to Rudanka, was opened with a ceremony attended by the Member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, RS President, Željka Cvijanović, as well as other representatives of the RS authorities, of the Companies Autoputevi RS and the Autoceste FBiH, as well as the EBRD and the EU Delegation to BiH.

This is the first Corridor Vc highway section through Republika Srpska that has been completed and put into operation and will connect Tovira and Kostajnica, from Svilaj to Doboj, including two interchanges near Johovac and Rudanka. This section provides a direct connection to the Banja Luka - Doboj highway and the existing M17 highway in Bosnia and Herzegovina and connects to two other sections (Vukosavlje - Johovac and Rudanka – Putnikovo, respectively) that are being constructed by the Autoputevi RS.

Some 40 kilometres more of the Corridor Vc highway is still to be completed on the territory of Republika Srpska, that will be implemented with the completion of the sections: Vukosavlje – Johovac and Rudanka – Putnikovo brdo 2. Currently, works on the section from Rudanka to Putnikovo brdo are underway, implemented by the Public Company Autoputevi RS. This section will extend to the Putnikovo brdo – Medakovo section, the construction of which is under the competence of the Public Company Autocesta FBiH.
